Outrank Review: SEO on Autopilot, Tested

I put Outrank.so on a live site and watched what it actually shipped. The automation works. The strategy behind it is where the money leaks. Here is the full walkthrough, in video and in writing.

Outrank Review 2026: I Ran It on a Real Site
⚡ TL;DR

Outrank.so sells SEO on autopilot at $99/month for 30 published articles plus a backlink exchange. The publishing machinery genuinely works, and that is not nothing. The problem sits one step earlier: the keywords it picks for you are informational, and informational keywords bring readers who were never going to buy. My verdict after running it on a live site is that Outrank is a competent publisher pointed at the wrong target, and the fix is not more articles.

⚡ The verdict in 30 seconds

Outrank does exactly what its landing page promises, and that is precisely the problem. It connects to your site, picks keywords, writes articles, adds internal links and images, and publishes on a schedule without you touching anything. As a piece of machinery it is one of the more reliable ones in its category.

But an SEO strategy is a choice about which queries are worth winning, and that choice is made before a single word is written. Outrank makes it for you, and it makes it badly: it reaches for informational queries because they are easy to find and easy to rank, not because they bring you customers. You end up with a traffic graph that goes up and a revenue graph that does not move.

CriterionScoreWhy
Publishing reliability9/10It ships on schedule, to your CMS, without babysitting.
Article structure7/10Clean headings, internal links, images. Readable, not memorable.
Keyword selection3/10Informational by default. This is the whole review in one number.
Business relevance3/10Traffic that does not convert is a cost, not a result.
Value for money5/10$99/mo is fair for 30 articles, expensive for 30 wrong articles.

💶 What Outrank actually costs

The core plan is $99/month, or $999 a year, and it includes 30 published articles per month. Volume add-ons and services sit on top, and they add up faster than most people expect when they budget for this.

PlanPriceWhat you get
All-in-One$99/mo ($999/yr)30 articles per month, published automatically
60 articles add-on+$85/moDoubles the output ceiling
90 articles add-on+$160/moTriples the output ceiling
Backlink Premium$199/moLink building on top of content
Backlink Enterprise$899/moHigher-volume link tier
Human Curated$1,399/moHumans in the loop, which tells you something

Prices read from the official Outrank pricing page on 14 August 2026. There is a free trial, and it is genuinely useful: you can see the keyword research and a generated article before you pay, with a watermark on trial output. Use it. It shows you the keyword problem before you have spent anything.

🎯 The keyword problem, concretely

Here is the distinction the whole category glosses over. An informational keyword answers a question. A commercial keyword answers a question from somebody holding a credit card. They cost roughly the same to write for. They are worth wildly different amounts.

What autopilot picksWhat a consultant picksDifference
"what is a CRM""CRM for recruitment agencies"Reader vs buyer
"how does SEO work""seo consultant for shopify"Curiosity vs budget
"benefits of accounting software""quickbooks alternative for freelancers"Traffic vs pipeline

Outrank optimises for the left column because the left column is easier to automate. High volume, low difficulty, plenty of headroom. It looks like a win in a dashboard. It is a rounding error in a P&L. Thirty articles a month aimed at the left column will lose to three articles a month aimed at the right one, and it will lose badly.

📝 What the published articles look like

Better than the category average, and still recognisably machine-made. The structure is sound: sensible H2s, internal links that point somewhere useful, images in the right places, no obvious factual wreckage. Nothing that would embarrass you if a prospect landed on it.

What is missing is the thing that makes people trust a page: a point of view. There is no opinion, no test, no number that came from doing the work. It reads like a competent summary of the first page of Google, because that is what it is. That is survivable for a definition post. It is fatal on a page where someone is deciding whether to hand you money.

🏆 Who should buy it, and who should not

Buy it if

You publish nothing today and you need a floor rather than a ceiling. Thirty mediocre articles beat zero articles, and Outrank removes the excuse. Also fair if you already know your commercial keywords and you are willing to override its picks every single month.

Do not buy it if

You are hoping it will decide your strategy for you. It will decide, and the decision will be informational. If your business lives on a handful of high-intent queries, $99/month is better spent on three pages you actually control.

What I tell clients

Automate the writing, never the choosing. The keyword list is the strategy. Hand that to a tool and you have outsourced the only part that decides whether any of it pays. Tools like ChatSEO take the opposite route: they work from your real Search Console data and recommend, rather than publishing on their own.

❓ FAQ

Is Outrank a scam?

No. It delivers what it sells. The articles get written and published, the backlink exchange exists, the schedule holds. The disappointment people report is a strategy gap, not a delivery failure.

Does Outrank have a free trial?

Yes, and you should use it before paying. You can see its keyword research and a sample article for your own site first. Trial articles carry a watermark.

Will 30 articles a month get me ranking?

Probably, on queries that were never worth much. Volume ranks you for easy things. Ranking for the queries that fund the business is a targeting problem, and no amount of volume fixes bad targeting.

Is $99 a month expensive?

It is cheap per article and expensive per result. Roughly $3.30 an article is well under freelance rates. Whether that is a bargain depends entirely on whether the articles aim at anything commercial.

What should I use instead?

Depends on what is missing. If you lack production, keep Outrank and override its keywords. If you lack direction, you need analysis before publishing: see my SEO tools comparison or ask me directly.
